Just a quick note here as rushing off to my promotion at The Tabernacle (see gigs 25 sept) - to urge you to listen in real time - or listen again all week - will put more ballast to help you decide to listen again when i revisit forum next ....

Listen again all week - so you can go to jamie's event or mine today in london!

Mosi will play live - Kora/vox and from his CD Kaira Kora Afrika (also played on BBCR3)

More anon - enjoy

Here is the link to listen again to MOSI CONDE's guest slot with DJ Ritu - which made for delightful radio with some lovely playing/singing and tracks from Mosi Conde's debut album KAIRA KORA AFRIKA - on I tunes later this week and from mosiconde@yahoo.co.uk

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0 ... 5_09_2010/

The discussion was wide ranging with some fascinating insights into the life of griots - in Guinea and in general and what it means as well as Mosi's outlook and career - well worth a listen. The whole show is great and the guest slot is always in the 2nd half

Mosi Conde is from Guinea Conakry's premier griot family and unusually his mother was the guiding musical force in his life teaching him musically and spiritually. Mory Kante and Sekouba Diamond Fingers Diabate (Bembeya Jazz) are his uncles. Mosi Conde travelled extensively playing with Guinean and Ivory Coast musicians and came to London about 12 years ago. Since then he has a made a distinctive mark - with a new phase with his matchless band KAIRA KORA AFRIKA and his debut self-released album also called KAIRA KORA AFRIKA

You can listen again all week till just before DJ Ritu's next BBC LONDON - A World In London show on Saturday 2nd Oct (8-10pm weekly) 94.9fm London / http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/radio
