Thinkng of learning drumming with a new Cameroonian teacher Alphonse Daudet Touna. I suspect it'll be different from the Ghanian and Sose stuff I've done in the past.

Alphonse has his owm band called Helele, and was nearly deported last year because his visa was not renewed, but thankfully a massive campaign succeeded in his being able to stay in the UK.

Saw the Red Arrows between 'gigs' this afternoon i.e. on their way to Bristol airport to re-fuel. They were still in formation. Like, don't they ever relax between displays? Can't they just sort of pootle around on their own while they aren't displaying? You never see one Red Arrow on its own.

We've had some fantastic family news today - I won't go into details here but suffice to say a weight has been lifted from all our shoulders. As my sister says, what can we worry about now?!!

If it's what I think it might be, Des, than that is a big weight off.

Re being the subject of a song which I mentioned a few weeks ago, not only do I have the lyrics but I've now been sent a recording, which I hadn't heard in over thirty years. Very strange.

I've put it here should anyone be interested in checking it out:

On the way to work a 'white van' driver complimented me on my Tamla Motown t-shirt.
