One of those times where it’s a surprise to discover that someone’s still alive. Johnnie, who turns 95 today (Does that make him the oldest person in the birthday list?)
I've a list here. I used to keep track of those musicians nearing 90 & over. My father (born 1920) is interested, it makes him happy to hear when someone older than he, particularly a musician he admired, is still active, and sometimes even, still playing music. I think it's fairly correct, but there are probably errors and I don't know how up to date it is. I don't feel like proofreading/confirming data right now, but it does give an idea. I did check to see if Mitch Miller is still with us and he is.
1911 - July 4 - Mitch Miller
1913 - July 13 - Pinetop Perkins
1914 - May 13 - Johnnie Wright
1914 - October 26 - Claude Jeter
1914 - March 27 - Budd Schulberg
1915 - June 9 - Les Paul
