You get the same band back together and cover 'I Put a Spell on You,' 'You've Lost that Loving Feeling', 'Moon River,' U2's 'One,' and a whole bunch of other tunes even more suitable which I've not thought of during the last thirty seconds.

Morrissey did an unexpectedly good 'Moon River' once, and on reflection it was not un-Bowie-esque

Boring visually but a Desert Island Disc chez nous.

i don't know about unlikely. Eliza's a heck of a musician and could play or sing with most anyone I should think. That's lovely.
I can hold my own in a couple of other languages, but I do find it a relief, even after all this time listening, to hear lyrics in english to a non-english style. Another recent example recently was Mariachi el bronx

If you mean the one on 'World of Morrissey' I thought it was dreadful. Crucifixion is maybe not too unkind a word imho.

Coming back to duets, I can't think of an occasion where Moz was ever persuaded to share the spotlight, unless you count the Bowie support gigs, where he finished with Cosmic Dancer and David came in to finish it off.

Back when it came out, I thought Robert Plant and Allison Krause seemed unlikely.

You're right, Dayna, it WAS unlikely. But it worked really well.

Andy. Proposition: Morrissey's entire post-Smiths career has been a ghastly mistake. Yes, I know, it's a hard call but I recently tried to listen to even the ones I always liked ("Interesting Drug", "Piccadilly Palare", "Late Night Maudlin Street") and God but it was a struggle. Am I throwing the baby out with the bathwater? I've never been convinced by him as a Pop Legend, even though his bottomless pit of self-regard seems to have convinced so many. Maybe this deserves a thread of its own - 'Morrissey - Kindly Leave The Stage' - or somesuch.

Just a tad (and I don't think she's ever sung better than on that track). Her duets album with Norma is out this month. Yay.

Listening to Nolan Strong, I had an urge to hear some Clyde McPhatter a favorite of mine (their voices have always been slightly reminiscent each of the other to me and I learned today that Nolan was influenced by Clyde) and came across some live footage of Clyde McPhatter singing with Bobby Darin. To my ear, their voices do not work well together and poor Clyde had to tone it down and almost drop out when Mr. Darin started singing. Thereby, I consider them an unlikely duet.

That's a fab clip, Judith. I guess it was from a Bobby Darin tv show, and he was doing his Jools Holland bit, if you know what I mean. Clyde's arms were open wider, as was his smile, at the end, so I guess he won that contest, but he was still the guest, after all.

No similarity, but it reminded me of the duo between Sam Cooke and Cassius Clay (as he still then was).

The grinning shmo is BBC sports correspondent Harry Carpenter. Even in a short clip like this, you can see Sam's musicality and good looks.

Twiggy had some mid-70s pop success, I seem to recall, and had a decent if unastonishing voice.

But doesn’t Twiggy look like one of Tim Burton’s stop-motion animation figures in that clip?
