Was it just me, or did anyone else wonder, during the first song, if Charlie hadn't somehow discovered a long-lost and previously unheard recording by Spinal Tap? When he credited it to the Blues Project, mentioning Al Kooper's involvement, I was perplexed, but maybe we can forgive Al Kooper a few clunkers in the light of his other achievements.

I didn't hear it. In fact, I've just spent ages wandering round the Radio 2 site trying to find where I can listen again to that show. Any ideas? I know that, usually, they only stay up for a week, but I'm sure I read something from Charlie about that one being there for two weeks. Hmm....

Go to the BBC Radio 2 page, click on Listen again, and you should get a new window with the BBC player built into it; this window gives a listing of alll the programmes that you can listen to - you have to scroll down to get to Withou tFrontiers, as the list is alphabetical.

Yeah, thanks Rob, but I tried that, and Without Frontiers ain't there. I reckon that, despite what Charlie said, the programme was only there for a week (as is usually the case) and has been booted out by whatever was on at that time this week. My own stupid fault for not checking it out earlier....

Sorry, I didn't check that it was still there before offering the advice.

so sorry for leading you on a wild goose chase - I made a rash assumption that the Tom Wilson show would be kept there for two weeks, forgetting that the BBC's online rights are limited to seven days per programme. This reflects the BBC's deal with rights owners - ie, the record labels and publishers who own the songs contained in music shows.

Again, apologies - the Listen Again will return to normal for the next four weeks, starting with programme 7 on Joe Boyd

Ho hum. Well, thanks for clearing that up, Charlie. My loss - the programme sounded fascinating. Still, I'll make an extra special effort not to miss Joe Boyd...I'm sure it'll be great, too.
I did so like the idea of hearing you play the Velvet Underground though....

Good news for you Taiyo No Otosan. The link is gone on the BBC "Listen again" page but if you type or use this link, you will be able to hear the program again until Wednesday. Another fine one by Mr Gillett, I might add.

Now if anybody could help me with the Saturday (11 February 2006) program that I missed...

Hey Yves - that's amazing! How did you do that! Tried the link and there it was...the Blues Project taking me way back to being 15 again, buying Nuggets and being blown away.....
Thanks!
Sorry I can't help with the 11th show....
