Hi John. Aha! you noticed that I started this list and can get in and edit it too. I've been wondering what I do/did as a child that might be the equivalent of trainspotting because I enjoy (or am driven) these birthday/internet/fact finding searches probably as much as you do which also means I'm impressed by how many names you continue to find as the lists get longer and more difficult to wade through and many of the names you find are not noted in Wikipedia. I'm on my way out the door, so I'll add these names this afternoon. A Thanks to you - and everyone else who posts here and on the birthday YouTube videos - for helping to keep this section up and going.

I think that strange American custom of placing the month before the day has confused matters. I had Roy added to the September list last year under the first of the month. (reference - wikipedia & "Tattoed on their Tongues" by Colin Escott).

I checked the weather in Seoul, and it is way below freezing right now, around 17F. I've read that S.Korea is cold in the winters, with snow, but is that unusual?

I think that strange American custom of placing the month before the day has confused matters.

It drives me nuts, working back and forth between the two systems, constantly translating - then forgetting or not knowing which system I am in and thus translating from. The system used in the UK and elsewhere is the most comfortable for me, so I just stick to it and work from there. It's functional in the U.S. if you write your months out in letters rather than numerals, eg: 11 January 2010. I've noticed more and more companies (even small local shops) are adopting this system (11 January 2010) on their receipts and dropping the customarily abbreviated numerical version, possibly due to more international communication/transactions - what with the internet. Also, in the written out version, it is so much easier to take the date in at a glance when the numbers are separated by the name of the month rather than a comma.

(For those who don't know: the U.S. 'written out' version, January 11, 2010, is most often seen abbreviated : 1/11/10).

At this distance in time, I don't recall where I got the wrong date for Roy Head, but since I find most of my information on US websites, I guess one of those might have confused the date. By the way, Korea follows the US Y/M/D order. Korea is cold and snowy in winter (it narrowly missed out to Vancouver on getting this year's Winter Olympics), but I gather this year has been the coldest and snowiest on record in Seoul. However, right now I'm in London, where it has been just slightly less cold and snowy. I'm soon off to Italy for a week, coming back here in time to see Mariza before heading back to Korea.
