I used it once, couldn't find what I wanted, and like Charlie, I could only stop it playing by turning my computer off.

It's probably an age thing.

I had a similar problem. The trick is: always stop it playing before you close Spotify down. It seems that when Spotify grabs your computer's resources, it doesn't let go without a fight.

I became discouraged by how much is still missing - of the tracks on my forthcomiing Honky Tonk compilation, less than half were available when I last looked.

well Charlie , if mainstreamers like Spotify had them all, what would be the point of you going to all the trouble to release them!?? We rely on you to be the lone beachcomber

Spotify

Postby paul Mc » Sun Oct 18, 2009 9:51 pm

I was alerted to Spotify by my younger sister who is transformed by it,into music that is.I am surprised as to what is there & what is not.I found all the atlantic tracks by Ray Charles but not his "The train",the flip sde of Lets go get stoned. But a surprise to find tracks by Bunker Hill & not only Hide & Go seek.
When I have finished listening I right click on the green icon on the right hand bottom of the screen & select exit click & it stops also you can choose pause or stop..

Clearly alot of the tracks are more than 50 years old & out of copyright but I did find recent issues by Allan Toussaint.
Good hunting

Spotify free is currently in an invitation-only beta, which means you need to have received an invitation token to access the service

Currently the waiting list is long.

Anyone know how to get an invite ?

Thanks to the 2 forumistas who responded by PM to this, I'm now up n running. So far I'm pretty impressed, been listening to Popol Vuh's transcendental "Hosianna Mantra" (from 1972 but timeless) which although wide of this forum's core music, would go down well with many I'd think, and does have a Korean vocalist too.

But are you enjoying it or enduring it?
