Mayra Andrade Storia, Storia

Postby kk » Tue Jul 28, 2009 10:11 am

Just stumbled across this one while browsing through amazon.fr, and was a bit surprised as i haven’t read anything about it here or elsewhere – did anyone hear it? Is it good? Cover looks very polished…

UK release is planned for September(-ish) with a date at the RFH to follow. I'll post more when I get confirmation &/or other details.

Thanks kk, I had no idea she had a new CD out.

It may be worth having a look on Spotify. I guess if it's not generally available until September in the UK it may not be on Spotify there, but worth having a look.

I'm listening to it on Spanish Spotify right now and my immediate sense - I'm incredibly impressed, a real contender for the best 10 CDs of 2009 certainly.

Picked it up at FNAC in Paris On Wednesday, track 12, Turbulenza was the one that grabbed me yesterday, will now check track 8, Mon Carousel. Altogether a very attractive record, very different from the first one, and in a good way, as the saying goes.

Mayra will be at the Royal Festival Hall London on November 14, followed by Roberto Fonseca. Double bills don't get much tastier in my (biased) view

i think it’s a great album, quite varied and Mayra’s voice sounds fantastic… it has “maturedâ€
