MySpace censorship

I normally copy my radio playlists as a blog at www.myspace.com/djjackdaw

But this week, the process was blocked, presumably because of the unacceptable photo of naked Nina Simone. I wonder what this forum's lined would be. Should I find another photo, or drop this one in the first place?

I think you should make a statement on the page about the censorship and ask for response / comments. It would be useful for you, too, to see how many people might be checking your page. For your part, it is more important for people to see the playlist, so you may have to change the photo.

A naked Nina Simone? That photo is a new one on me (you can see it on the show's linked page). Very lovely, by the way. Murdoch - who owns MySpace - is a foul hypocrite: the main populariser of page 3 girl pin ups finds a woman's naked body objectionable. Incredible!

Is the photo more important than the playlist? If not, then I'd suggest you drop the offending photo. It's not worth the fuss.

The photo is quite in yer face - I accessed the one on your playlist page at work and normally such images are blocked so I had to quickly close it or else I might have been in trouble with management.

The powers that be seem unable to distinguish between what is and what is not 'OK' these days but as Adam says perhaps another photo could be used.

I resolved it by adding a second photo in the list here and dropping the offending one from MySpace, which I do think is wonderfully dignified and proud, like the woman herself

He's foul alright, but you have to admit that the print and internet media are completely different animals, the former being far easier to control. For all we know, Rupert Murdoch might well be happy for that stunning picture to be published on Myspace, but there's obviously some catch-all anti-pornography software that's blocking it.
