I myself will be promoting my new book, "Now That's What I Call A Chip on My Shoulder", the best of recent world music writing, compiled from a well known forum renowned for its ideological arguments, which takes its inspiration from the ancient People's Front of Judea. Chapter One: 'Professionals? Huh, what have they ever done for us?'

Hey Des, I have been glad to stand by your shoulder and defend you against the snipers, but that last thing I can defend is you sniping against others without provocation.

I still treasure our brief encounter in a tent at WOMAD (let others think what they will of this comment) but am also glad that this forum attracts contributions from professionals.

As has been noted before, there are some who have moved from one status to the other as a direct result of their forum contributions (in one case, almost making the transition in the wrong direction, losing a valuable job due to indiscreet remarks here).

All are welcome here, regardless of how they make their living or whether they make any living at all.

Des!? I too have to say mon ami, that that was uncalled for. It came over rather harsh, even if it was meant as a joke.

I'm glad Nigel is back, and I'm also glad you are back, and I even enjoyed Garth's Istanbul experience, and Howard is still talking to me, though I'm debating whether to buy his book (am I in it?). As for Nigel's book, I've still hardly started his blues book. As for my book it remains an unmitigated disaster as far as sales go - http://www.anvilmaths.co.uk

I do, Gordon. I tell people about your book. I think it is astounding. I could understand concepts I'd never gotten before. It just isn't out there yet. Which, you are right, means you've got to keep promoting it even though times are financially shaky to say the least.
