AFRICAN SOUL REBEL AWADI ON AFRICAN ESSENCE THURSDAY

Postby Outerglobe Debbie Golt » Wed Feb 20, 2008 5:17 pm

We were lucky enough to interview Awadi for African Essence whilst he was roosting in London before resuming the African Soul Rebels tour with Salif Keita and Tony Allen
and you can catch the interview on AFRICAN ESSENCE:

THURSDAY FEB 21st

5-6pm on www.openair.org.uk (Show stays on the site for a month! + archive of Student Rise discussion shows as well)

7.15-8pm on www.resonancefm.com 104.4fm London

Usually we have different guests, occasionally we have a double gig with different music - so feast on 1 and 1/2 hours of African music and talk radio this Thursday

Awadi is a pioneer of Hip Hop and rap in Africa on a mission to unite all of Africa under one banner and ot give young people a voice. He's very clear about what he wants to do and say and gives an interesting insight into how he makes his music.

African Essence is presented and produced by DJ Debbie and Anne Wanjie on a number of different media. We play cutting edge and classic afrocentric tunes from throughout the diaspora and interview key movers and shakers on the scene.

Feb 28th Charlie Dark and Richard Olatunde preview African Beats tour on RESONANCE FM 7.15pm

Mar 6th INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY ADVANCE - featuring female artists even more than usual. Interview with Souad Massey amongst others. Different features on each show.
