Huge appreciation for the tickets to see Le Grand
Voyage. I guess films like this are extremely rare,
not least for the sensitivity in the detail, story
and shooting, but for giving viewers an opportunity to
see a face of Islam we are routinely denied, that of
humility, tolerance and care for other human beings. The
film is coming out formally to cinema in October,
please can we remember it then for those who have not
seen it yet. Would Ishmael Ferrouk, the Director be interested in making some ping pong...?

Le Grand Voyage

yes, the road movies to end all road movies

I met Ismael briefly at the French Institute screening on Friday, very good guy. Not sure that music is a strong suit for him, but thanks for the ping pong idea

It took him five years of planning, one year of shooting, and it's not surprising when you see what they did. The footage in Mecca was remarkable enough, but every detail of the journey is memorable and effective for the story.

The scale and ambition of it are amazing, but then the actors delivered the idea and made it work.

On general UK release in October

Truly a wonderful film
