Thank you, Dayna. Maybe we'll get an American tour someday if some promoter takes a fancy to us. Meanwhile, we are doing a gig in London in January 11th at the newly re-opened Marquee Club for those who would like to see us.

I got a message from the CD company asking if i received it OK & they also said, "write a review. The band would appreciate it."

I'd love to, & I wish I knew how to write one.

That's very nice of you, Dayna. Don't be intimidated at the thought of writing a review. Just say what you thought, even if it's only a couple of sentences. If I may say so, I think your writing has got so much more confident over the last few months since you first started contributing here.

I'm with Dayna on this. Writing meaningful music reviews is terribly difficult.
I've been trying to think of something even a little "intelligent and meaningful" to say about Adam's album for a while now, at least something beyond it's fantastic (it is) and one of my albums of the year (it's that, too). BUt frankly, I failed miserably, maybe because It's one of those records that gets better the more you play it. This is not faint praise, as all the best records are like that.
If I have a criticism, it's with the track order at the beginning... But it's not really important, as once you get into the groove, it locks on to you and doesn't let go for a second.
****** from me (oops, wrong thread :-) )

Thanks Adam. I will try to write something soon. I just have to think of how to.
It would be easier to give it stars. *****

Thank you for your enthusiasm, Joel. Really cheered me up. It's funny you should mention the track order at the beginning, we wanted to start the album with "Herzegovina" but Paul Tipler the engineer convinced us it was too long! Nine minutes isn't too long, is it? For the first track on the first album of a completely unknown band?

"Bosnia-Herzegovina" might be considered too long, but "Herzegovina" is a mere 11 letters...

I think your instincts were right. Herzegovina should have been track 1. That the track is 9 minutes (and 11 letters) long is all the better, it's that kind of album :-)

Your version of "My Lagan Love" is wonderful, and worth buying the album for this one track alone. It's a beautiful and haunting melody, and played even better. Everything else on the album is an added bonus.

Good luck (sorry, break a leg) on Friday. Guess what I would love to hear?

Thank you, Norman! It was a tribute to Sandy Denny's Fairport Convention. Caroline Lavelle plays very nicely on it, I think. She's a proper musician, you know. Plays with The Chieftains. Your request has been duly noted.

Adam Hasn't mentioned this since 30th December. Anyone thinking of going? (I'm undecided at the moment)

Sorry Adam, sorry Norman, I'm not gonna make it. Lunar Dunes are probably taking to the stage as I write and even if they're not, I don't feel like rushing right now. Here's to the next one!
