World 2000, 2001 discs available?

Postby deeceeguy » Tue Sep 28, 2004 2:34 pm

After hearing and loving World 2002, '03, and '04, I searched and found that the earlier editions are unavailable through the usual Internet outlets (amazon, hmv) on either side of the Atlantic. Can anyone help me find the '00 and '01 editions of this fabulous series? I'd be much obliged, as they seem, inexplicably, to have gone out of print. Many thanks.

Having had a look at your request this morning, this evening I was looking at Time Out which led me to post the notification of Auktyon's gig at Ocean this Friday.
In turn this then led me to check out Auktyon's website where, would you believe, along with selling at least a dozen or so of their own albums they appear also to be selling copies of World 2000! I hope you can read Russian!

looking for compilations World 2000 and 2001

Postby Charlie » Thu Jan 18, 2007 11:40 am

email from: Paul Neeley

Howdies from Texas,

I've picked up the last few fabulous compilations you've produced but can't find the first two. World 2000 doesn't show up in any of my searches, and for World 2001 I found only one copy at Amazon UK for 55 pounds. Do you have any ways to suggest I can get copies? I'd prefer CD format, but are the song available in mp3 format (in your compilation format)?

thanks,
Paul

aren't we all?

I wouldn't mind knowing myself. I've been searching for both of those for months. The only suggestion I have is to periodically check ebay. It might come up. At the moment, for instance, they have something called CHARLIE GILLETT'S HONKY TONK : ABC :RHYTHM ON THE RADIO for only £1.99.

Here at Stern's we have a precurser to the World series called "And This Is The World Calling", from 1998. Sorry for lack of tracklisting.

If you haven't ordered this cd you must. This compilation is really rockin' my boat, it's superb.

I think I love everything on it.

Joe le Taxi by Sharlene Boodram would be on a dance dj list if I ever did such a thing. (There is just one little bit in it which is naff poppy sounding, but I can live with it).

Thank you Dominic & Gordon. I'd never ordered from Sterns, assuming it'd be complicated. But I wanted to see if I could get "And This Is the World Calling". It was quite easy, maybe too easy.
