Pioneers of the Blues Revival

Postby Alan Balfour » Wed May 30, 2012 1:52 pm

I was emailed the following to pass on to interested parties.
=======================
Pioneers of the Blues Revival
By Steve Cushing
Publisher University of Illinois Press (due Spring 2013)

Interviewees: Paul Oliver, Sam Charters, Pete Whelan, Dick Waterman, Gayle Dean Wardlow, Robert Dixon, Bob Koester, John Broven, Ray Flerlage, Mike Rowe, Jim O'Neal, Dick Spottswood, Jacques Demetre, Phil Spiro, David Evans, Chris Barber, Chris Strachwitz.

I'm trying to acquire photos of the interviewees and the names they invoke in the course of their interview. I have roughly two more weeks before deadline if it's to be published in spring of 2013.

I see that Illinois have already got this forthcoming book up on their site. Due July. Cost of it might be somewhat prohibitive.

Wow, 75 clams is steep. Can you blag a review copy, Al (for inclusion here, of course)?

Norman I've dropped some none too subtle hints in light of one item I sent the compiler...but chance would be a fine thing. I note that Amazon UK has it at £65.

Otherwise, we may have to wait a year or so and keep our eyes open in the book shop in Waterloo - the odd that has music oddities and remainders.
