Plastikes Karekles with Manolis Pappos @ St Ethels Apr 27th

Exciting concert of two contrasting halves featuring one of the world's most renowned bouzouki players, Manolis Pappos.

First part Manolis Pappos joins Plastikes Karekles, an eclectic fusion of international classical musicians and Greek folk musicians, to play the group's own arrangements of music by Theodorakis, Hadjidakis and Xarhakos.
Second part, more traditional Rebetiko music, they are joined by musicians based in London and visiting from Greece, to form a big band of bouzoukia, baglamas, accordions, violins, other traditional instruments and singers.

MANOLIS PAPPOS: ...acknowledged as one of the finest bouzouki players and musicians in Greece, Manolis Pappos has played and recorded with some of the greatest names in Greek music. He regularly collaborates with George Dalaras, Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki and Stavros Xarhakos to name just a few. He is renowned for his unique style of playing and his both beautiful and virtuosic improvisations.
