As ever, thanks for keeping this up to date, Alan. I certainly find it extremely valuable for alerting me to gigs I can review that I otherwise wouldn't have known about, and I'm sure others also appreciate how much work goes in to putting it together.

It seems though that only a new post from someone else gets it back to the top of the pile (I found it on page 2) which is another reason for this post!

Just getting Alan's indispensable gig guide back on the front page. You monthly updates are always a huge help when it comes to seeing what's out there to review, Alan - so thanks for quietly keeping up the good work!

This intriguing item shows up in May:

Sat 21 May: Charlie's Jukebox - a celebration of the life of Charlie Gillett, tbc

Does anybody know anything about it?

I would tell you about it Rob, but I'd have to kill you afterwards. Careless talk costs lives.

Oh, OK then. There are plans afoot to organise an event (bigger than the usual DJ Relay but smaller than a royal wedding), to celebrate the life of our mentor in words & (lots of) music.

More updates as there are more things to update you on.

I look forward to learning more. In the meantime, I'll keep that date free.

Thanks Alan, your hard work gives us an 'at a glance' gig list which helps those who don't make it a practise to find out what's on and those who do and have to filter through sections within sections of gigs and often give up.

Cheers, Alan - and for that list of venues, which is invaluable. Now I know of three competing events this coming Friday.....choices, eh?

This is quite buried and took me a while to find, so I might as well add something to bring it up to the surface.

I have just seen the programme of a French music festival being held on 17th March on Trafalgar Square. Looks good, though frustratingly I definitely can't go...

Welcome back Live in London Update- I missed you.
Looks like a great lineup in September at the Jazz Cafe.
So thanks Alan- we will all owe you a pint of Golden Hare (name?) at Womad.
The sun's up so here's hoping for a great Womad weekend.
