Really enjoying these, but what’s going on guys… competition time and no Nikki on the phones?

Alan that picture is, as Terry-Thomas once remarked, "sheer porno"...

I say, can I speak to that lovely Miss Akinjinmi? I think I might have the answer...

Do us a favour...enter this month's competition. We thought it was good idea at the time and the Fatamouta Diawara e.p is certainly worth winning.

Gary, you said you were looking for anything else that sounded as good as JD McPherson. I was browsing in Brighton's best music shop today (Borderline Records) and they were playing a CD that immediately brought JD McP's CD to mind. I asked what it was and I bought it on the spot:

I can't say that the tracks are legendary, because I don't think I've ever heard of any of them, but they're not wrong when they say It's wild, and it's rockin'. Highly recommended; I suspect that it might appeal to a number of people on this forum.

(And I see that the launch party is tonight at Madame JoJo's: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=199765786735848)

Thanks a lot for the tip. Just bought the album via download and like you haven't heard these songs before. There's a good chance one of 'em will surface on a No Reason show once I run it by Rockin' Norman D.
You unfurl an old flag for the wonderful The Blasters in another thread and good on you as they're worth it. Just bought the new Dave Alvin album and on a very brief run through ( a few seconds of each track) it sounds strong.
