Problems with Spotify

Fired up my Spotify the other day for the first time in ages and encountered a potentially lethal problem: immediately I was besieged with Norton Firewall messages telling me that this, that and the other computer were attempting to access my computer. Block or Allow? Until a decision is provided the service is temporarily suspended. I sat there pressing "Block" a few dozen times in the hope that it would stop. Nope. It would not stop. So I turned it off.

Anyone else had this problem and have any suggestions? Thanks.

I had a similar problem, not a security alert but it just stopped me logging on and wouldn't recognise my password anymore.

I eventually solved it by removing it altogether and then signing on with a completely fresh account, which has worked fine for the last few months -though the ads are definitely more frequent now.

Adam, I suggest you get rid of Norton Firewall, or don't renew it when the year's sub is up. There are other good freeware blockers you can use, and Macs rarely suffer the same online attacks that Windows users experience. As well as slowing down the comp, it also reacts oddly with some applications. So maybe Spotify is one?

I've had exactly the same problems as Hugh described, covered in other Spotify correspondence elsewhere here. I've solved the problem by downloading again using the same account. Maybe you should do this - delete, then download the latest version?

I do find if I haven't accessed Spotify for a while - maybe a couple of weeks - I get access problems, but none that sound like yours. Maybe write to them, see what they advise (they'll probably suggest you sign up to the Premium Account). Or write to Bob Lefsetz, tell him that once he starts getting problems like this he won't be so quick to recommend new technology shmontses as The Future of the World.
