Gordon Neill is so funny
His disposition is sunny
But Tinariwen's twiddly-bits
Get right on his nerves.

Making a clean breast of it

Des likes Blue Tits
And music with twiddley bits
But he's scared he'll cause ripples
With a word that means nipples

wouldn't it work better as:
But Tinariwen's twiddly-bits
Get right on his fiddley-bits

That sounds better and even ruder!

So Jacko is dead
But as Gordon has said
It's generally understood
That 'Bad' wasn't good.

For Des and Abdel

The new one from Khalad
Is a bit like salad
You know you should
But it’s still no good

Like lettuce without the crunchy slug
The engineers have pulled the plug
Everything has a different name
But it still all sounds much the same

The voices in my head made me do it

It was 42 years, 3 months and 2 and a half weeks ago today
Sgt Pepper taught the band to play
They’d been going in and out of style
Now some of them have been dead for a while

Gordon is meant to be writing a column
which would ideally be funny but he feels too solemn
and so he keeps prevaricating
looking for the perfect path for roller skating

Gordon Neill's
got four wheels
on the sole outside his shoes
so he can rock and he can roll to the hesitation blues

Procrastination is the thief of time
But hesitation is not a crime
So let young Gordon deliberate
I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait.

I wish I could
Be understood
So let's be clear…
I’ve no idea

Do you have a witness?

Can you remember where you were
When Bolan picked the wrong chauffeur?
Or exactly what you said
When Elvis turned up dead?
And surely you can’t have forgot
Who you were with when Lennon was shot?
Where were you heading
When you heard about Otis Redding?
Why were your lips so sealed
When Jacko’s death was revealed?
Why were you so silent
When Marvin’s dad got violent?
And why did you act suspicious
When you heard about Sid Vicious?

Not that I’m accusing anyone.

Many nights on the tiles
Are described in 'More Miles'
Garth once stayed in Grants
And it sounds like pants.

Anette Funicello
loved Elvis Costello
But she had to admit:
"that's because he's a brit"

Later added: That bad, huh? Sigh...
