Oy, that's enough. My sister used to think he was gorgeous.

How many of us here wish we could say that. Alas, I fear Wikipedia has done for Judith - an all too real case of ignorant bliss. Perhaps the forum can help her with a more succinct description of Cliff; the best I could think of are a Sunday School Elvis Presley, or the Mickey Mouse of Rock'n'roll. Someone must be able to do better...

Thanks for helping me out on this everyone. I just watched a YouTube of 'Devil Woman' bearing all your comments in mind. His teeth are as flashy white and even as Pat Boone's, his pants are even tighter than Elvis'. I can imagine a young girl, Des's sister, seeing him as gorgeous but I wouldn't call him handsome, Gordon - too much of the Mickey Mouse cuteness & vocal range going. I checked out a couple other of Cliff's videos and needed to blot out the disturbingly conflicting images/messages so prolific in that era and after working my way through other songs about evil women and the like to the even more disturbing video of Screaming Jay Hawkins "I Put A Spell On You", I discovered one of Hong Kong's teen idols of the 60's - Josephine Siao - singing "Love Potion #9". Actually, I am writing this post to thank all of you for directing me to this lovely woman. I'm going to post it up above on the YouTube

I always thought this was as good as Cliff ever got...

Didn't the Flamin Groovies cover this at some point?
