Tiger Country at the Hampstead Theatre

Postby Hugh Weldon » Sat Jan 29, 2011 11:32 pm

Does nobody here go to the theatre any more? Haven't seen a theatre review on the forum for yonks. Though I shouldn't really complain, I don't go often enough myself these days, only went to this because a friend has a rather meaty role in it.

But it was really good. Large cast, great ensemble playing, in a piece that tries and largely succeeds at getting at the reality of NHS hospitals, young doctors trying to make a career, trying to 'care' while patients die on them, operations go wrong and the workload and the stress are ridiculous. Superbly directed in a small but ample-for-purpose space, in the round. Technically solid, great movement and use of space and very well acted. Ruth love, you were fab. Go see, go see.

If you are very lucky you might see my review of Greenland at the NT in a couple of weeks.

Bet that's got everyone excited. Not.
