Sinatra series on BBC4

Wonderful documentary series (four parts) covering Sinatra's career in extensive detail. I revere his artistry, so I was like a pig in shit for four hours, but even non-fans might find it interesting, as he touched on so many currents of American life for so many decades. Also a compelling & clever piece of documentary-making, in its use of archive footage, refusal to have an overall narrator, etc.

Yup Andy, an excellent documentry. I liked the use of voice overs by people with knowledge rather than bland 'celeb' talking heads. (No Paul Morley, thank god). I've never been a great fan, but of his generation he was probably the best. You're spot on about it's reflection of various strands of American life. Well worth a watch.
