London Calling

There's a tv channel on freeview I've only recently become aware of...London Live. It seems to be fairly low-budget, running old episodes of Drop the Dead Donkey and such, along with a selection of old Ealing Studios movies but it has interesting local stuff as well. No local music show as yet though. Maybe the Shout Collective with its various talents and music biz contacts should form a production company and make a pitch for a new show recreating the spirit of Ready Steady Go. I betcha could do it.

That's a great idea, thanks Will! We'll ensure that you get a credit as creative consultant (non-financial, but nevertheless....)

We may have to approach the oligarch Lebedev to be part of his publishing empire. And also obtain the services of a Keith Fordyce lookalike.

Fellow Collectivistas - whaddya think? How could it go wrong?

I'm game. Can I do my best middle class educated white boy Brian Jones impersonation accent and enthuse about Elmore James?

Ready Steady Go had young, hip, fashionable, skinny kids.

Erm.........

I've been told I've got a great face for radio but we'd be guaranteed a good write up in the Evening Standard (proprietor: E. Lebedev)

Well, you're no Cathy MacGowan mate. That's for sure. Maybe RSG was a bit of an ambitious notion.

Why not start with a film about London buskers ?

Could Jamie possibly aspire to being Keith Fordyce?

More like Keith Harris (or perhaps Orville)

But the really important question is who gets to play Dave Clark?

Hmmm, Jamie, you'd have to swop the black tee shirts for a lack blazer to morph into Keefy Fosdyke. As for Dave Clarke, I thought he only owned Bits and Pieces of RSG. As you pointed out Will, London Live is low budget, as for the Shout Collective...

^^ A more likely template than RSG, I suspect.
