Partly that, and also another dimension where the producer has An Interpretation Of Events which s/he is determined to air. The solution is simple - add a voiceover, as was done pretty successfully in that 'British Invasion' series earler this year, where the voiceover actually WAS the producer - but if the strange laws of TV dictate no voiceover (as is the case with the classic albums strand) other means must be found.
