Adam is the seventh Beatle

Postby ritchie » Fri Nov 24, 2006 10:46 pm

Adam (nos. 7)

I heard it and immediately thought of you ;-)

I was going to put a comment on the forum slagging it off but then I listened to it whilst I was decorating and sang along and made mental comments to most of the tracks.

I swing both ways on this one (I don't particularly like Geo Martin) but it's good just listening to the Beatles in any shape or form.

Don't buy it, it's sh*te but it's good sh*te.

ps Billy Preston was the sixth Beatle.

Well, I'm very honoured and flattered Ritchie, but I'm afraid I can't accept. Definitely, Billy Preston was the sixth Beatle, but the seventh would have to be Neil Innes...

Re: paul siminon time out interview

Is there a list to be made of musicians who have started new careers as therapists or doctors? I can only think of Sandie Shaw and Hank Wangford at the moment...

I'm only mentioning this useless piece of trivia because I must have once taken the time to mentally record it, and it's now screaming to be made public. Anyway, I believe that Wendy Smith, the female singer for Prefab Sprout back in the day, became a speech therapist.

Re: Hate The Beatles Love

It makes it very hard for us Beatle people to hold our heads up, as opposed to hanging them in shame. How much more money do these people NEED?

I haven't heard it. I don't want to hear it. I know I'm bound to hear it sooner or later. My mate Hami made me laugh by asking, in all innocence, if I'd heard the new album of Beatles songs re-mixed by George Michael and his son... Now THERE'S a thought.

I happened to stumble upon it at the library recently. Thought I should check out my prejudice against it since after all it wasn't going to cost me any cash — so I took it home and listened. WOW! It's great! I bought it the next week — for all of about $9 new. I don't care if I'm sending a few more bucks that way, bfd. Nice to hear those songs in a new setting (and it's not such a drastic new setting as I'd expected from the earlier publicity) and it's done with great respect. Let down the grouchy old guard and enjoy.
