What a feast!

However, i was just about to mark all the dates in my diary, when I realised they were all Fridays - has World on 3 moved its day?

Indeed. I should have made that clear.

Indeed, indeed, the thought has occurred to me too, and I've been wondering how to set it up

It still says Monday on the home page.

It changes at the end of this month, I believe, not sure which week.

I only know that by the time it's my turn again, it will be on Fridays.

It was actually last week. I would like to claim that I tuned in and was shocked and disappointed to hear Jazz on 3 instead of World on 3, but in fact I was looking for a playlist and spotted this:
Schedule change
From the week beginning Monday 15 September 2008 World on 3 moves to Friday nights at 11.15pm

Oh dear. a clash with Mark Lamarr's 'Gods Jukebox' programme on Radio 2. I know we've got listen again facilities, but it still seems a crying shame to find the Beeb airing these two programmes, which I would have thought would have a similar target audience, at the same time.

Well I was disappointed to hear Mary Ann Kennedy playing her mates again. Jazz on 3 had a stimulating live session and interview with Peter Brotzman and an interesting feature on Albert Ayler.

Listening to the show on the Internet, unfortunately, I've got to the point where I just listen 4 weeks of 6...

Mary Ann September 19

Postby Ken Josenhans » Fri Sep 26, 2008 5:32 pm

In the unlikely event that there are any other Mary Ann Kennedy fans here: earlier this week a friend and I found that the Sept. 19 "World on 3" was not available for USA listeners, and maybe for other out-of-UK listeners as well.

Roberto at Radio 3 Interactive and the staff there worked on this over a couple of days and this morning they finally got a working copy installed for this USA listener. Hooray!! So, you have about six hours from the time of my writing to get in a listen to last week's show.

Or, if you prefer, you have six more hours to ignore it... :/

Ken,

Try this back door method if the BBC's front door is jammed.
If it doesn't work there are tips on how to make the thing play on the BBC Radio 3 message world music board in the " Fresh Start " discussion.
