with that kind of hip jive talk you must have been born into a black family, like Steve Martin in that film. Otherwise how could you have any more claim to be a blues player than anyone else exposed to the blues at that time?
Surely last night's fusion gig with Dee Dee Bridgewater shoots down your anti-fusion theory? And no leather trousers in sight!

Harsh words against a whole sub-genre of music. If something isn't 'pure' perhaps its just not to some people's taste. Alot of other people find certain sounds more aurally attractive in that context.

For me if I only listened to Taraf type stuff all the time I'd go nuts.
