myspace or facebook for personal social networking?

It seems as though more and more people that I know are jumping on facebook for their personal social networking. Never mind the 20 y.o.'s who have already absorbed this into their bloodstream. I'm talking about the 30-somethings, and hmmm...well, in my experience the 30 -somethings.
And it's probably this over myspace. I don't hear them talking about myspace. I hear them talking about all the privacy controls that one has on facebook, now. who can see what, and all that. And how they have caught up with old friends.

So which is the preferred choice? or is it both? Myspace or Facebook?
What are they good for, and what do you actually ****do**** with them?

(Public Disclosure: I have a myspace account, but I hardly touch it.)

Facebook is just like having a public email address, so people I haven't heard from in years can get in touch. But as for all its functions, I simply disable them so that I don't get silly email messages asking me to look at my fun wall.

Myspace is much more useful, as a convenient way of hearing new artists, saving them the trouble of posting a CD unless and until I ask for one.
