Charlie, I thoroughly endorse your endorsement!

Listening to your WS prog the other day, hers was the track that stopped me in my... er... tracks!

The album is consistently interesting, the instruments are there to frame the vocals, with very little repetition and every now and then (usually) one instrument, a piano for instance, takes center stage. I guess you could call it symphonic, each song is developed musically and few of the songs end where they began, it's certainly not just vocals played with a backing band.

The music becomes especially poignant, as researching on the internet one finds that Andrea Parodi, who is equally credited as the artist with Elena Ledda, was dying of cancer and didn't make it to the end of the recording. On the album cover he's wearing a beanie presumably to cover his baldness. (Earlier pictures of him show him as quite hirsute). This was obviously an album made with great love, and will be high on my personal list for the year.

I heard the track, went to Myspace and was thrilled to find the album on US i-tunes. Don't you just love the 21st century!
