Gordon,
I've been trying & trying to invite you on as a friend, but can't get the message to you.

okay, I've forced myself to log on to myspace, just to see if anything interesting has happened recently - nope! Oh apart from some Girl Friday called Samantha - you know who you are.... hehehehe

I had Samantha as well, though not in the Biblical sense.

I think MySpace is great for discovering new music if you put in the effort. There's so much out there and I've 'befriended' lots of interesting artists I'd previously never heard of, particularly lots of f*lk stuff. I sometimes use it as a 'global jukebox' while I'm at home.

I've been trying to find the myspace site for Gipsy Kings & found several fan sites. I found one that said it was their's & I checked it out. It said the last time they'd been there was in 2006 & they had 0 friends! ;-(

I thought, that's odd, they would have some friends, then I checked out another one that says it's the offical site, but for some reason it won't even open.

I thought it apt for my first soundoftheworld post to be on a myspace topic. This is how Charlie and I met and I have met so many kindred music obsessed spirits from London and abroad. So not only do you get to access music which would be difficult to discover otherwise, you actually make friends (in real life). And fortunately, being in London, people are bound at some point to pass through!

:)

Is this their official myspace site & can you get into it?

I did, but it waited a long time before opening. I don't know - is there such a thing as an offcial myspace site? It looks pretty well done, anyway.

Last night I did a little experimenting with adding things to the profile. I didnt' get exactly what I was trying to get, but maybe it's OK.

My Mom has tried signing up for Myspace too, but had trouble for some reason.

I had a song by Gipsy Kings on my profile, Como Siento Yo, & I was really happy to have it there but it got deleted for some reason I don't understand. It just said " deleted by the artist".
Have you ever had this happen before?

Only after they've looked and seen who my friends are.

Thought I'd pop back into this thread and repeat my MySpace address 'cos it got lost when things were deleted.

I have already added quite a few of you as Friends - but if I missed anyone and they want another friend in the virtual world of MySpace then feel free to send me an invite.

I think Gipsy Kings must have completely left Myspace. If I put them in the Search, I get nothing! Darn. Since I've gotten a taste for their music, it's almost all I've been interested in for right now. Oh well, I will find something else I guess.

Thanks. That link is actually for Nicolas Reye's son. I should try to hear some of his stuff too, I guess.
