smokey angle shades

have seen this band twice now and they are so, so good live. the best live band I've seen currently doing the london circuit in AGES - probably cos all of them sing, swap instruments and go to the trouble of bringing their own admirably knackered piano along to their gigs.

they're kind of like the Beach Boys might have sounded if Chas'n'Dave and Steve Harley had joined. There's something very late 70s/early 80s pub rock about them - they're a bit cheesy but it's all part of their charm. Proper big harmonies, great songs

Thanks, Matt, a good recommendation. Cheesy? Nah.... well, ok, we all need some from time to time. They've worked well on their singing, the harmonies blend with a rough side, and the melodies stand out. Gary Crowley (BBC London, Sat eve) would love them.

The non-electric (ie real) piano is a real bonus. They must be healthy shlepping that to gigs.
