An unusual combination that works very well, I reckon. Ignore the album samples & listen to the full tracks:

I've booked them to play Darbucka next month & would be really interested to know what people think.

I'm glad to hear this, Jamie. I've mentioned Sacha Silva once before on the 'what are you listening to now' thread - a song called "The Argument" which I think I thought was called "Anatomy of a Coup" which is the title of the album the track is on - and they are my friends on MySpace. When will they be in London?

Sacha & the band are playing Darbucka on Thursday 4th June. I don't suppose that by chance you happen to be over in the UK then?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Sacha's music! It has a musicality & beauty to it that's far removed from the empty flash & dash of most "culture crossing" projects.

i've heard of pakistani quwalli (sp? ...yeah, whatever) meets flamenco on a songlines sampler back in june 2005. That was EXCELLENT!
