Marion Keisker - born one hundred years ago today - 23rd September, 1917 in Memphis [died 29th December, 1989] Sam Phillips’ assistant at Memphis Recording Service and Sun Records; the first person to record Elvis Presley on a Saturday in the summer of 1953 (18th July?). Peter Guralnick writes about her relationship with Sam in his most recent book
