Born Franklin Delano Reeves in Sparta, North Carolina - 85 years ago today on 14 July, 1932; a couple of weeks after FDR received the nomination to be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate [died 1st January, 2007]

song written by Jerry Chesnut together with the DJ Mike Hoyer; covered by Commander Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen on their second LP

‘This must be the bottom’ - assisted by the Wilburn Brothers. Song written by Del and recorded for a 1965 LP which was titled “Doodle-oo-doo-doo” ... ... se/5630185

another written by Jerry Chesnut, this one with Norro Wilson - first recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis (his version posted on SotW last month after Norro Wilson’s death). George Jones also recorded the song in the 70s.
