Is he the bastard son of You Know Who?

He's got that thousand-mile "You better believe me now" stare.

He did the "hand shots" for Dennis Quaid as Jerry Lee in "Great Balls of Fire"; he was interviewed here -

O.K., so let’s get the Jerry Lee thing out of the way. The album is called Killer Instinct and it opens with “Like Jerry Lee.” You sing: “Everybody always figured he was my old man/I don’t know if he is or he isn’t/I could have found out once but I didn’t/I figured either way it’d be more than I could stand.” You look like him. You play like him. What’s the story?

It pretty much says it right there in that song. There was a DNA deal done, and I didn’t want to find out.

Were there circumstances that made you suspicious that he was your father?

Jerry has referred to me as his son several times. I don’t care still to this day, but he’s said some things to me over the years that let me know where things were at. I was adopted by two wonderful Baptist missionaries—I tried to change that but anyway…

Thanks, John. I was honestly making a throwaway comment, and didn't know any of that.

I was thinking of that other self-created group, "The Sons of Lee Marvin", which includes such characters as Jim Jarmusch and Tom Waits.
