Olivia de Havilland; Erroll Flynn's Maid Marian - born one hundred years ago today, 1st July, 1916 in Tokyo to British parents, - she made her first film in 1935, has lived in France since 1954

‘Dreamer’ - Olivia, George Tobias, & Ida Lupino in the 1943 film “Thank Your Lucky Stars”, possibly the only time she was seen singing on film (although it appears she was in fact lip-syncing to a vocal by Lynn Martin ...)

ODH on receiving her Oldie of the Year award earlier this year:

Another famous case of showbiz sibling rivalry, in this case with her younger sister, Joan Fontaine, who died in 2013. If you're interested in the details, as far as they can be known, they're all here.

And if I may, on Olivia's 100th, I'd like to tag on another musical performance by Ida Lupino.

"She does more without a voice than anybody I ever heard!"

Olivia now "breaking her silence" on the feud for her 100th in an email interview -

I can't say that I can imagine Joan Fontaine as a dragon, although I only really know her from her two Hitchcock films, + Letter from an Unknown Woman & a BBC-TV interview re-shown recently (in which Joan denied that there had been a feud)
