Brenda Holloway - born 21st June, 1946 (Atascadero, California)

The earliest clip of her I've seen, on "American Bandstand" in June, 1964 when 'Every Little Bit Hurts' was #13 on the Hot 100

and returning a few months later with her follow-up single 'I'll Always Love You', another Ed Cobb song which Brenda preferred to her previous record; and another chat with Dick Clark

Many sources have her d.o.b. as 21st June, but this 1997 interview indicates that it will be Brenda's 70th on the 26th today-

wikipedia now has both dates ...

Happily quite a number of 1960s TV clips of her survive -

Another one from American Bandstand with Dick Clark -
Just Look What You’ve Done (1967)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwYlnf5qVDY
Written by the producer Frank Wilson with R. Dean Taylor

Two in colour from the same year -

When I’m Gone (1965 track lip-synced)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aNEdx0z7z4
Written by Smokey and originally intended for Mary Wells before she left Motown

You’ve made me so very happy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zvTvZcmouU
Her last Motown single which she co-wrote with her sister Patrice with a contribution from Frank Wilson

The above are all lip-synced, but she was singing live (I think) on this 1965 Shindig! Appearance with the Shindogs - a short cut version of He’s Coming Home which (as She’s Coming Home) was the Zombies less successful follow-up to Tell Her No
