Looking at the Curtis Mayfield clips reminded me of how great a guitarist he was. Matched possibly in soul circles by Bobby Womack. BW is getting lots of press due to his new album - not heard it yet but good to know he is active: he looked fragile at the Jazz Cafe last year. Here he sings Jim Ford's Harry Hippie - written for Bobby's brother - lovely song. Not a great quality live clip but worth watching to see bobby in full flow.

I always liked 'Harry Hippie'. I noticed on the side of the screen a recent mini-documentary (37 minutes) on Bobby, which isn't perfect perhaps, but certainly worth a look
