Been reading that Aimee Mann's forthcoming album takes inspiration from great pop singles of the 70's-80's.
This one was mentioned as a 'touchstone' song. I'd completely forgotten about it.
Don't think it ever moved me particularly at the time but like many songs, it gains a certain something over the years of remaining dormant and the lack of anything like that kind of music being produced now.
Perhaps it's the hot weather, but I've had Gerry Rafferty, Andrew Gold & Phoebe Snow albums out of their sleeves this week. (now all three gone...)
