Dorothy Jones - born 16th May, 1934 (South Carolina) [died on Christmas Day, 2010]

Founder and ever-present member of the Cookies from 1954-1967. After Margie Hendrix and Darlene McCrae left to form the Raeletts in 1959, she formed a new version of the Cookies with Margaret Ross (her cousin) & Earl-Jean McCrae (Darlene's sister). They often recorded for Goffin & King as backing singers and as artists; and also had releases as the Honey Bees; the Cinderellas; the Palisades; and the Stepping Stones.

'Wounded' (1967) was their final release - written & produced by the Tokens

Did this one even make the charts? It's a good song, but seems a bit stuck between eras: the girl group age was all but over, and coming to terms with the new late-60s music didn't seem comfortable, what with the time changes and all. And what an odd two-note ending.

Oooh isn't it lovely, though? Thanks, John. A new one on me.

No - they didn't have any more hits after their time with Dimension Records. In fact I'm not even sure if 'Wounded' was the A-side (although it should have been I think) - some accounts have it as the flip side to a version of 'All My Trials' with Margaret Ross singing lead.
