Question for Joe

With Saturday's guest Joe Boyd liking folk music, wondered if he had heard the debut cd from The Eighteenth Day of May. If he has what are his opinions on them. I first heard them being played in Fopps record shop in the West End at the end of 2005, and on asking was told who they were. Finally bought the cd in the last month, they kind of remind me of Steeleye Span meets the Byrds meets Shirley Collins & Albion Country Band 'No Roses' era meets the Velvet Underground meets Pentangle. Think they are one to watch, and hopefully they will build on their first cd. Sadly found out about their recent gig at the Bush Hall after it had taken place.

Question for Joe

Agree very much with the comments on Eighteenth Day of May, and would add that they also remind me of early 10000 Maniacs...particularly The Wishing Chair (which Joe produced). Too late for a request now, but Lilydale from that album would be great to hear.

After Charlie's suffering last week with Abba etc, he may have to suffer some more tonight if Joe plays English folk...lets hope it's as entertaining as last weeks show.
