Hi Howard..

I'm fully up to speed with all of that (yer not dealing with no neophyte 'ere) - but with the weak dollar a CD that prices at £17.99 over there can with shipping end up costing around 40 bucks to land over here. Given that the average price for a CD here is around $16.99 that makes it a bit steep. For instance I was lusting after Okna Tsahan Zam's A Journey in the Steppe after Charlie played it on the show two weeks ago, Stern's stock it in the UK, and they have a store in New York - I emailed them but they didn't think they'd be getting it in... Then there was that Cape Verde singer Terezinha Araujo in the same show I really liked - but again not really obtainable and then there was this great German/Chinese band WuXing that was TOTALLY out of reach...

But then again I feel I should be donating to tsunami relief and not buying more CDs so in the bigger scheme of things it's not necessarily a bad thing...
