Straddle
Akimbo
(as in 'legs kimbo')
Suppurating

But the Scots language (distinct from English and Gaelic) is full of great words. A few off the top of my head:

Glaikit (foolish, stupid, thoughtless - as in 'You'd have to be glaikit to keep doing the sockpuppet thing.'))
Scunnered (disgusted, bored, fed up - as in 'I'm fair scunnered by these sockpuppets.')
Dreicht (dreary, dull, bleak, normally used to describe the perma-drizzle associated with the Scottish climate, but also to describe something boring and uninteresting - as in 'These sockpuppets are no half getting a bit dreicht.')
Carfuffle (a fuss, a disagreement - as in '... but there's no need to get in a carfuffle about it.'

Not much humour up there in Scotland, then?

Now that did make a dour Scotsman laugh out loud! I shall make it my mission to use that word as much as possible tomorrow

How about Bear Butte Mountain?
It's a mountain in South Dakota.

Hey, man wait a minute, don't get a kink in yer kilt - all this for just one word and an exclamation mark! I have the Des Bowring Seal of Approval, you know:

I'm just following in your undoubtedly large footsteps:

Gordon Neill wrote:Hmmm. I don't have a problem with creative use of the Forum form. I wouldn't like to be a pot calling a kettle names. And if it's some folks just having a wee laugh, then that's fine by me.

Here's another of my favourite words, sassenach. I think it means "pretentious twat." Best not to be one, eh?

Sorry about that, I guess we all have the right to testiculate, don't we?

Or is this some sort of clothism? Discrimination against trousers and socks?

Someone pretending to be called Bozo Bingtrousers quoted me as saying:

Some might think that posting anonymous abuse is having a laugh. I wouldn't. Who will you pick on next?

And you're wrong about the meaning of the word 'sassenach'. It's a word used chiefly by some Scots to designate an Englishman. Not by me, though. I'm a pure bred mongrel, with a bit of everything in me.

No, I'm really Bozo Bingtrousers. Not pretending at all. Course, I might be schizo. Nah! Really I'm paranoid.

So, abuse is okay as long as it's not so-called anonymous? If it's by an old timer? Someone who's been in the forum since year zero? And what was this abuse Bozo is accused of, anyway? Making fun of someone who's more than capable of looking after himself?

Just asking.

I've seen abuse on this board and Bozo doesn't even begin to qualify. Unless you're making up new rules now.

Pure testiculation and clothism on your part if you ask me.

Really I'm paranoid. You might come and get me. Drag me out of my nice comfy drawer where I shall now retire for some rest.
