I think you must be driving this thread. Right? Where will you go with this?

The lead singer from Herman's Hermits( Peter N., not sure of the last name)is coming to have a concert at a high school in Ashtabula, Ohio. Can you believe that? This morning when I was out in my car getting mad because of my windows fogging up, I heard this song called Dandy & it's kind of good. Do you think so?

This concert in Ashtbula...It's going to be the whole Herman's Hermitts group.

As soon as my Mom comes home next month I will be able to shop for a better computer, & see all those good You Tubes.

and everyone in the Uk above a certain age started singing ...,

"no milk today, my love has gone away ..... took a walk outside your house, late last night .... mrs brown you've gotta lovely daughter .... something tells me I'm into something good .... she's a must to avoid, a complete .... there's a kind of hush all over the world tonight all over the world .... something is happening and it's started happening when you go walking by...years may come, years may come .years may go years may go ...."

I think there are as many 'Herman Hermit's groups' as there are ...well you know what I mean.

The thing is Peter Noone was the main man, with out him they were just another ... (I can't believe I'm writing this!)

As per usual with astronomical events I missed it again - clouds, woe is me. :(

At least the Clangers pee'd off.

What kind of astronomical event happened? I've always been interested in things like that. I used to have a good telescope.

Today is the birthday of Mark Lindsay, from Paul Revere and The Raiders. But they aren't in the Canon,so I guess he will have to have his own birthday party somewhere else. ;-(

I'm listening to another Top 40 countdown show from 70s. I just heard something by Melonie, I've never heard of her before. The song was called Ring The Living Bell. I think that's right.

The Bee Gees had a song in the top 23,in 1972. Did anyone like the Bee Gees before they went Disco or after? I've liked some things by them. I'm not sure what the name of this song was. My World?

After 31 pages, I think I finally have a post that fits this topic. We are turning our clocks ahead one hour tonight. Are you doing the same there tonight? LOL!

Slow Dancing was just on. I've been hearing this song all this time & never realized it was Johnny Rivers. I've always thought it's a beautiful song.
That one & Secret Agent Man are his own songs. Aren't they?

No, we "spring forward" at 1 am on Sunday 25th of March. Did I read somewhere that in the US the change is being made a week earlier than usual?

We did it early. Ya. They say it's an experiment the government is doing to see if we save more energy by having more daylight hours. Someone on the radio asked, "What if at the end of the year they find it didn't make a difference, will they switch it back again?" I love having more daylight hours. I think a lot of people liked it.
Daylight Savings Time... I heard Paul Harvey say once it was just something the government invented anyway!

You could put Gilbert O'Sullivan in that thread up there. Alone Again, Naturally. That is a sad song.
Two songs that are too depressing!

a funny thing...

Postby Dayna » Fri Mar 23, 2007 8:25 pm

Today, a funny thing really did happen on the way to the forum.

I was driving down the road & saw a car that had been stopped by two police cars. I looked to see what was going on, & the car had a refrigerator stuck in the trunk of the car!
