Public service announcement!

Worldwide Music Guide is now streaming on the Channel 4 Radio website.

The theme of the show is a conversation with a person who's well known in their walk of life about places they''ve been to or where they'd most like to go to on the planet, incorporating music from the places they ‘visit’. fRoots’ very own Elizabeth Kinder makes her radio debut as host, attempting to find out some surprising things about her guest whilst playing music at each other from cultures which don't get much airplay in this country.

Aimed squarely at people who wouldn't know Kuti from Keita, it's aired in two half hour parts each month and then archived. The first two-part programme features actor Julian "extraordinary" Rhind-Tutt (‘Dr. Mac’ in Channel 4's award winning comedy Green Wing). Subsequent guests include Martin Duffy, keyboard player from Primal Scream with an eclectic mix of folk and world music, and the human rights and leading anti-war campaigner Jeremy Corbyn MP. www.channel4radio.com

Worldwide Music Guide is made by World One Productions.

Just wanted to float this to the top again. The 3 x 2-parters mentioned above are all streaming now, and I gather the next one with Alexei Sayle is about to appear.

Channel 4 Radio's web site isn't amazingly intuitive to navigate. Go to www.channel4radio.com , click the “Musicâ€

Most welcome. I'm delighted that we now have a show which features guests who have presence.

Good luck to Elizabeth.

Vive le Ping-Pong.
