We want one!

Before we start checking out official sources, does anyone know of anyone who has one, needing a home?

I'll ask around. But if I get to see one first, you might never get the offer.
We've two middle-aged cats who rule the home and a younger one is def. needed to disrupt their standard 18hour per day sleep pattern, as they need the exercise.

I met a delightful old white cat with golden eyes that I stopped to converse with y'day. I felt like inviting him to set up home with us.

You've now got me going with cat stories which are incredibly boring to those silly folk who are cat-deniers. I'll try to keep it with a music link, though. One of our cats has Monsieur Camembert as one of his names (as a kitten, he stole and chased this cheese around the kitchen). I've since found out that there's an Aussie manouche/klezmer band of the same name. What are the chances of this..... yawn....zzzzzzzz.

I thought you looked like a cat lover Norman - and do take that as the highest of complements!

I grew up with this superior life form, but our rented accommodation contractually prohibits them. However we've finally decided, contract be damned! Our landlord lives out of the country and we only see him about once every two years, so we'll just say the cat adopted us rather than the other way around. Life's too short to deprive ourselves of feline company for any longer.

I always love the cat v dog debate because it reveals what individuals perceive intelligence to be.

But yes, we should keep everyone happy by making this pussy-talk music related, so how about some songs about cats or with cat in the title?

Cat Black (the wizard's hat) - Tyrannosaurus Rex

Cat People - Bowie

Cool for Cats - Squeeze

Three Cool Cats - (most recently) - Ry Cooder

Over to you....

Tinker's Blues

Cats versus Dogs? I prefer this one to Beatles versus The Stones. I'm with the cats any day, though I am finding dogs more and more attractive these days. (Hmm. This is quite interesting, it's starting to read a bit like a discussion about sexual preference and orientation.)

I think I'd better get back to the music.

"Leave My Kitten Alone" - Little Willie John
"Me And My Cat Named Dog" - Norma Tanega (some confusion there, I'm sure).
"Tipitina" - Professor Longhair (that was the name of one of our cats - if it's good enough for Bert Jansch...).

Kinky Friedman has said (how often I quote him) that when you die and go to wherever, all the cats & dogs who have ever known you will come running up to greet you. To be fed, no doubt.

Very true, you never see one on the other end of a copper.

They'd work for anyone who fed them, Ted. But they have the reliabilty of potheads, and the loyalty of an Afghan fighter.
