I've been following all this as a decided EU-citizen in a fairly stable EU-member country. But having to put up with a government that has our own EU opponents in the governement (our foreign affairs secretary is a bosom buddy of Farage).

Before the poll our newspaper wrote at length about how the referendum didn't in fact tie the hands of the parliament, but now it looks that the rest of EU is very much willing to make UK a lesson to all those parties elsewhere who are thinking about following the example. As in "in is in and out is out". And obviously Cameron lost his own gamble.

Boris Johnson as the PM and Farage as God knows what? Oh dear...
