The Leveson inquiry

The inquiry into alleged collusion between tabloid newspapers, the police and a "network of corrupt officials" took evidence from the top female officer at the Metropolitan Police, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Sue Akers (ostensibly pronounced as in "acres"). Inexplicably and without a hint of irony BBC Radio 5 Live news referred to her as Sue Ackers .

For decades now, the generic 'police spokesman' of Private Eye mag has been Knacker of The Yard (geddit?).
