Musical Dreams

Postby NormanD » Sat Mar 26, 2011 10:46 am

WARNING Other people's dreams are potentially boring to listen to or read about. But they can be interesting to relate.

Feel free to add your own, as and when they occur. No interpretations, please, or predictions......

I'm not really sure where to place this thread, it's not particularly "humour". Oh well.

The night before last I dreamt - - - - - - whoo whoo whoo hazy screen, etc - - - - -

I'm watching Judy Collins sing, she's on stage alone with acoustic guitar. She looks like Judy now, but she feels like Judy then. I'm sitting on a bench, in a tier of stacked seating, it could be Disneyland, or the circus.

She then announces that she would like to invite Adam Blake down to perform with her. Adam, sitting next to me, goes down, really excited. "I've been waiting forty years for this opportunity!!"

As he's putting on his acoustic guitar, Judy leaves the stage and comes to sit next to me.

Fin.

You want interpretations? You usually have to pay £50 once a week for that privilege.

Dream on.

Some people may say "not much of a dream Norman" but frankly that's about as much as I ask from a screenplay; about as much as i can cope with. Mind you who the hell does Adam Blake think he is - pitching up in other peoples' dreams indeed ?

Gee shucks, Norm. Aww...

Actually I'd be a lot more flattered if La Collins had remained on the stage for the purposes of a duet. Somehow I suspect I'd be all fingers and thumbs...

Occasionally, I have spectacular original music in my dreams. Not often enough — but I wake up in absolute awe of what I've heard. The odd thing is that in my waking life my musical activity is pretty strictly limited to appreciation.
